With trusted contacts you can let your friends help you if you’re having trouble logging into your account.

Here are Facebooks recommendations for choosing trusted contacts:

  • Choose people you trust, like friends you’d give a spare key to your house.
  • Choose people you can reach without using Facebook, ideally over the phone or in person, since you’ll need to contact them when you can’t log in.
  • Choose more people to help you. The more friends you choose, the more people who can help you when you need it.

And now, here is how to use trusted contacts on Facebook:

  • Log on to Facebook.
  • On the top right side of the page, click on the security button (the one with the lock).
  • Click See More Settings.
  • Click Security on the right side.
  • Next to Trusted Contacts click Edit.
  • Click Choose Trusted Contacts.
  • Click Choose Trusted Contacts.

Each of your trusted contacts will get a notification.

When you cannot logon to your Facebook account get all the codes from your trusted contacts and you are able to logon again.
