Whether you drive to a foreign country and don´t want to pay for data roaming, or you have a rather restricted data limit and want to use your wifi at home, sometimes it can be a good idea to download Google Maps maps localy to your android device and use them offline.

Here is how to use Google Maps offline on Android:

  • Make sure your data connection works.
  • Launch Google Maps.
  • Go to the area you want to make available offline.
  • Press on the menu and select Make Available Offline.
  • Now, select the exact area you want to make available offline. You will see how much space it will take up once you save it.

That´s it, the selected area will from now on be available offline.
