When you open a new tab in Firefox, it will display the frequently visited sites. But what if you prefer to see a blank page instead?

Here is how you set Firefox to open a blank page when you open a new tab:

  • Open Firefox, just as you normally would.
  • Type: about:config in the address bar and press enter.
  • Click the I’ll be careful button.
  • In the search field type browser.newtabpage.enabled.
  • Double click on browser.newtabpage.enabled to change its value to False.

Now when you open a new tab, it will display a blank page. If you do want to see the recently viewed pages, click the grid icon at the upper left side of the screen.
