Remove the system information from Ubuntu login

Jump to: navigation, search

If you log in to the bash on a Ubuntu system (via ssh or on the system itself), it can take some time because the system is gathering information to display.

Here is how to remove the system information from Ubuntu login:

You can either

apt-get remove --purge landscape-common

to remove the package completely or

dpkg-reconfigure landscape-common

to reconfigure it.

Now, when you log in again, it will be much faster, since the system information isn´t displayed any more.
