Sometimes all you have is an IP address, either from a mail header, in log files from your firewall and so on.

So you want to know who is behind this IP address? Easy, just do a reverse DNS lookup.

  • Copy the IP address you want to find out more about.
  • Paste the IP address in the field "Enter IP Address" and press enter.
  • This will get you the name of the device behind the IP address and also the top level domain.
  • To get more information click on the "Click" button that just showed up to do a whois query.
