If you have a wim file of an operating system and you want it to be multilingual, you will have to integrate a LPI (Language Pack Interface) into it.

Here is a very short way to do that:

  • Open the Deployment Tools Command Prompt from the Start Menu.
  • Create a new directory for the integration.
mkdir integrate
  • Copy the wim file (os.wim) and the lpi (lp.cab) to the integrate directory.
  • Create a new directory beneath the integration directory.
mkdir mount
  • Mount the wim file.
dism /mount-wim /wimfile:os.wim /mountdir:c:\integrate\mount /index:1
  • Integrate the lpi.
dism /image=c:\integrate\mount /add-package /packagepath:lp.cab
  • Unmount and commit the wim file.
dism /unmount-wim /mountdir:c:\integrate\mount /commit

You are done, lp.cab is now integrated into os.wim.
