Helpful stuff for all those who are fighting with the WMI Repository

To avoid wmi repository bloating apply the suggested hotfixes found here:

To check your system if you have a bloated wmi repository, just browse to C:\windows\system32\wbem\repository and check the filesize of the OBJECTS.DATA File.


Verify the health of your wmi repository:

winmgmt /verifyrepository


Repair the wmi repository:

winmgmt /salvagerepository


Reset the wmi repository:

winmgmt /resetrepoistory


--> all MOF Files which are configured for autorecover (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa392749%28v=vs.85%29.aspx) will be restored
