Hibernation Mode has one big advantage over the Sleep Mode: when the power supply fails, Sleep Mode is affected (you lose your unsaved data), Hibernation Mode is not.

Here is how to enable Hibernation Mode in Windows 8:

  • Press Windows key + W, type

and press enter.

  • Click Choose what the power buttons do.

3. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.

4. In the Shutdown settings click the box next to Hibernate.

6. Click Save changes.

Done, from now on, you can put your computer into Hibernation Mode again.
