When you run through the create stand alone media wizard for USB it gets to the point where it will format and fails.

The error in the CreateTSMedia.log is:

Format failed (0x8004242D) CreateTsMedia 12/9/2010 5:33:39 PM 1528 (0x05F8)
Error formatting volume K:\ (0x8004242d) CreateTsMedia 12/9/2010 5:33:39 PM 1528 (0x05F8)
Failed to create media (0x8004242d) CreateTsMedia 12/9/2010 5:33:39 PM 1528 (0x05F8)

This is because SCCM 2007 has a problem using USB sticks greater than 32 gb.

To solve this problem connect the stick to a PC running Windows 7, open a command line and execute this:

sel dis #
cre par pri
sel par 1
shrink desired=32768 minimum=32768
format fs=ntfs quick

This will create a 32 gb partition on the 64 gb USB stick, SCCM will accept this stick now.
