Create default settings for Windows Disk Cleanup

The program Disk Cleanup from Microsoft Windows is a nice tool to delete all that temporary files no one needs anyway. But every time you start it, you have to choose what exactly you want to delete.


Here is how to create default settings for Windows Disk Cleanup:

  • Open am Command Prompt (CMD) as administrator.
  • Type
cleanmgr /sageset:1

and press enter.

  • Wait a while for Disk Cleanup to start
  • Now, choose which files you want to be deleted from now on.
  • Click OK to save the preferences.
  • Whenever you now want to clean your disk run
cleanmgr /sagerun:1

Your disk will then be cleaned according to the preferences you set.
