Change when the display is dimmed in Windows

The most energy consuming part of a notebook, laptop or tablet is its display. By simply dimming it, battery life can be extended drastically.

Here is how to change when the display is dimmed in Windows:

  • Click on the power button in the taskbar and click on More power Options.
  • Click on Change when the computer sleeps on the left side.
  • Select the time you want to set in the Dim the display row. Select Never if you want to turn this feature off.

This also works on Windows 7, here the power options are in the control panel.
