Block Infolinks in text advertisements in Internet Explorer

Advertisements are a thing on the Internet you cannot escape. Most websites need them to make money or they would have to shut down. But then there are ads that can be very confusing for the user because they are integrated into the text itself as hyper links. This is called in text advertisement.

Here is how to block Infolinks in text advertisements in Internet Explorer:

  • You won´t need any third party extensions and utilities.
  • Press Alt + X to access the tools menu.
  • Select Internet Options.
  • Select Security.
  • Select Restricted sites.
  • Click the Sites button and enter:

Infolinks ads should now be disabled from all sites.

Note: This may work with other in text advertisements as well.
