Some of you don´t want to use the new Windows 8 desktop. It is a good thing that the classic Windows desktop you know from previous Windows versions made it to Windows 8. But how do you start it automatically at the start of Windows?

Here is how:

  • Press the Windows key on your keyboard.

  • Type schedule, click Settings, and open Schedule tasks.

  • Click Task Scheduler Library from the left pane.

  • Click Create Task on the right pane.

  • Enter a name, it is not important what you name it.

  • In the Triggers tab, click New, and then select At log on from the drop-down.

  • Click OK.

  • In the Actions tab, click New, and then type explorer into the Program/script text box.

  • Click OK twice.

  • Restart to test it.
