Automatically save screenshots in Windows 8

If a Windows 8 application is showing something you would like to take a screenshot from, there is a way to automatically save this screenshot in your My Pictures folder.

Here is how:


  • Wait until the picture you want to take a screenshot from is shown on your screen.


  • Hold down the Windows key and press PrtSc.


  • The image won't just go to the clipboard, it will also be automatically saved to your My Pictures folder with the name Screenshot.png (and then Screenshot(1).png, Screenshot(2).png and so on).
